View DCM scans

How it works

  1. Choose a DICOM file
Drop a .dcm file on the page or pick it with the button. Files from a DICOM folder without an extension open too.
  2. It opens in your browser
The image is decoded on your device. Patient details stay hidden until you choose to show them.
  3. Adjust and inspect
Pick a window preset or drag on the image to set it, scroll through frames, zoom, invert and rotate.

Questions

Is my scan uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser opens the image directly on your device. The site only loads its own scripts, styles and fonts; the contents, name and bytes of your file are never sent to a server.

Can I use it for a diagnosis?

No. OsonKit is not a medical device: it is for looking at your own images, for example from a disc you got after an examination. The image may differ from a certified medical viewer.

Which DICOM files can I open?

Single and multi-frame images that are uncompressed or compressed with RLE or JPEG Baseline. Images in JPEG Lossless, JPEG-LS or JPEG 2000 are not shown yet: the viewer names the compression. A whole study folder (DICOMDIR) cannot be opened yet — open one file at a time.

Are patient details shown?

Only when you ask: the name, ID and birth date are hidden in the tag panel by default, and they never appear in the tab title or the downloaded file name.

How large can the file be?

Up to 200 MB and 2,000 frames.
