Short answers to common file questions
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser opens the file directly on your device. The site only loads its own scripts, styles and fonts; the contents, name and bytes of your file are never sent to a server.
Which encodings are supported?
UTF-8 and UTF-16 (with or without a byte-order mark), and the old Windows encodings for Cyrillic (Windows-1251) and Western languages (Windows-1252), picked by the letters in the file.
Do Markdown and JSON open too?
Yes, with their own viewers: Markdown with a formatted preview, JSON as a tree you can fold.
How large can the file be?
Up to 10 MB.
